Heading: How many faces can the human being recognize?
-
Summary:
A
study from York University, along with Aberdeen University, with
people has studied the capacity of recognizance of the human being.
The one studied has focused on the capacity of recognize faces
without naming them.
The
study cam to the conclusion that the ones with less capacity of
recognizance is able to recognize the approximated number of a
thousand faces. Meanwhile, the ones with the most capacity (named
super-recognizers) are able to recognize around 10 000 human faces.
This
study was realized in order to show that human being can train their
capacity of recognizance so they would be able to recognize an
unlimited number of faces. If they were able to reach that capacity
they would be able to work as “facial recognizers”.

Super-recognizer people: human being with the capacity of recognize a
huge number (around 10 000) of human faces.
- Text commentary:
This
new talk about a study that has investigated the human face
recognizance capacity. The people who participated in this study were
able to recognize between a thousand and 10 000 faces. If you
think about it, you sure will think that this number is very high,
and, indeed it is, but for our brain that has trained for years it is
not. Our brain has been training for our entire life to remember
things like people's name or the name of the streets...
In my
opinion, the most interesting part if that the study suggests that
this recognizance capacity can be very strong, as long as you train
it. We could be talking of a new type of job: the human
face-recognizers. We are also entering the whole brain capacity, that
even though we think that we know a lot about it, there is always
something new to learn or study of.
